Road Trip – Rocket Park Ulverstone

A couple of weeks back  we drove to Ulverstone to collect our new vehicle, at that time it was after dark and we spotted the Rocket park and thought we must come back and take the kids, to experience some of our own childhood memories of this great playground.  Fast forward to the weekend and we took another drive to Ulverstone.

As kids my husband and I both frequented the Rocket Park on many visits usually over Easter when we were camping nearby.  I have very fond memories of the place.

We get to the Rocket Park….the kids are impressed.

We walk over to the Rocket – us, not so impressed.  It is bolted up with a padlock 🙁  I really don’t see why, there is no way you could fall out of that thing.  The spaceship has also been turned into a bbq area, the stairs removed.

Childhood Ruined.

Was it really cheaper to install a whole new playground than it was to fix the issues with these two pieces of equipment?  Such a shame.

Anyway the kids still had fun on the slide, which I am glad is still in operation.

On the way back from our play at the park we stopped to eat some dinner at the Devonport Bluff.  We went up the hill near the lighthouse.  We have previously had some family photos up here, it is such a beautiful spot.

Follow the boy

This year has been busy, busy at home, with a 3 year old I rarely find time to sit at the computer and do a blog post, and by the time night comes I just want to veg out and watch House Rules and not move for the rest of the evening, so I’m afraid the blog has been neglected. (It has also taken me all day to get this blog post typed)

Iv’e been spending a bit of time at home, trying to keep the house tidy for inspections, so we haven’t made many adventures outside lately, I realised I hadn’t taken any photos for weeks, so yesterday I grabbed my camera and new wide angle lens and followed my youngest around for the day, inspired by the lovely Molly whom I have followed on her blog for a long time, seeing her gorgeous photos of her kids, just as they are, in their environment, no set up lighting, just as it is then and there, so this is what happened. Excuse the washing.

Winter Blues

What a winter it has been. I suppose I go into each year with high hopes for the year that it will be a good year, better than the last, and then life will play a trick on you and throw something at you that you thought would never happen.

This year has been one of those years, and I’m rather over winter and rain. During Northern Tasmania’s floods of August my mother’s house was completely flooded, she lost almost everything. So the last few weeks have been busy, doing what we can to help my Mum out, and its been an ongoing process, but for now things are somewhat returning to normal.

During the last couple of months I’ve taken a few personal photos. Of course my youngest is often the subject of my images lately.

We had book week this year, my daughter being Wanda from the Where’s Wally books, and my son as A Hobbit from The Lord of The Rings.

Book Week 2013 Wanda from "Where's Wally"

It was too cold to be a barefoot Hobbit. All clothing sourced from the op shop (thrift) or their own drawers.

My little guy also had a birthday.

And got a GIANT trampoline for his birthday. (I didn’t realise it was going to be so huge but it’s awesome)
