Day Trip – Bluff Devonport Family Photography Tasmania

Last weekend was the start of our two week term break, the last before the summer holidays and it has certainly been needed, with the winter blues and sickness hitting us all it was wonderful to take a day trip to Devonport to the Bluff.  The Bluff has always had a great playground, I remember it affectionately as a child when my family would travel to visit my Nan we would often get to go to the playground there.  Obviously it was a lot different back then, but this new playground is fantastic.

There is a great fenced off area for toddlers, and heaps of spinning things to make you sick and dizzy.

The facilities have also been given a dramatic make over. It would be fabulous for a wedding here.

And of course the beach is just there next to the park!  I look forward to visiting more often.

2nd Birthday Bash

I haven’t been taking that many photos lately, the winter blues set in, the weather is foul and I barely have left the house.  We have also been re painting our walls so our weekends have been rather busy.  Yesterday my little guy turned 2, and that is an occasion to get the camera out.

We end up having a couple of birthday celebrations at our place, one with the family, and then something at home.

This is the wonderful Sesame Street cake made by Jo needless to say he was very impressed.

This year I opted out on the party, but we did invite some friends over for a play and pike lets, I was a bit worried we may have had to cancel his playdate as he ended up with conjunctivitis, but it was all cleared up.

Waiting for friends.

My dodgy attempt at a Thomas The Tank Cake!  He didn’t mind what it looked like though, he just wanted cake!

It’s Play School – Again!

For those of you that have followed my blog for a while you will know that I love Play School, as I have posted about it before, several times

Yesterday I took my little boy to this years Play School concert, this years presenters were Abi Tucker and Jay Lagaaia.  Unfortunately the boy was a GRUMP. I think he was tired from being awake a bit the night before and he just did not like it at all. He told me off for singing! Oh well I had fun!!

Is it over?

It’s safe to say Jay stole the show, he was fantastic.  Abi was great too.  My only complaint is it was so hot in the room, phew!   So my tips to prepare for the Play School concert, pack light, no prams allowed, dress light, make sure child is happy!  Don’t bother getting there early, everyone just pushes in anyway, wait around after the show the presenters do a quick signing, or a longer meet and greet if you go to the second show, and if you want to be guaranteed merchandise, go to the early session.
