First Birthday Party with The Hungry Caterpillar

On Saturday it was my baby boy’s First Birthday, one year has gone so quickly.

Here is the little boy opening his birthday present, a Little People Farm House. He really didn’t want to even open it as he was far too busy wanting to ride his bike that he got the night earlier!

Once we put it together though he wanted a look.

I used this post from Crash Test Mummy as a help for decorating the caterpillar, I had not done piping on cupcakes before so it was a bit of trial and error.

Before everyone arrived we took a couple of photos with our little boy

Hooray, you gave the cake a go! It turned out great. Good for you! I especially liked your balloon caterpillar. Very cool idea. Thanks for linking up. Hopefully more people give it a go πŸ™‚

Thanks! It was lots of fun, and the piping wasn’t as hard as I expected.

This is a lovely, sweet post. The photos tell a story in themselves, especially of him testing and then eating his cupcake. I love the hungry caterpillar idea. I might use it or similar for my bub when she turns one next March, although if I put effort into a great idea for her, I’ll need to do the same for my toddler, whose birthday is the next day. Got my work cut out for me.

Thanks Veronica, I am not a big writer so I try to capture it all on camera. Wow two birthdays in a row, that would be difficult to separate them, would be so easy to combine but then maybe each child would like their own special day.

Awesome cake! My man turns 1 tomorrow. I dont thing i have enough time to whip up a caterpillar cake, damn it. I would love to give it a go though. Will check out crash test mummy’s post! Great photos too. I think my little man will be a bit ripped off on the birthday celebrations but we aren’t big on birthdays, it is sad though, that he’s growing up so fast.

They don’t know when they are only one, plenty of time to make some cakes later πŸ˜‰ It’s most certainly for the benefit of the family.
