Horrible Histories

I don’t often find many children’s television shows that entertaining these days, I used to watch cartoons and tv a lot as a kid and loved Inspector Gadget, Astro Boy, Round the Twist, and Tea Bag.

The big kids in the house have moved on from abc2 to abc3 (yay) although I do have to occasionally listen to the irritating voices on abc2 as my youngest is now finding a little interest in the tv, although thankfully he mainly likes Playschool.

So last year as the kids watched more abc3, we discovered a fantastic show.  Horrible Histories.  It is hilarious.  I didn’t realise how funny till I heard this funny little ditty, and came in to watch…

My littlest boy LOVES this guy, does the little dance and sticks his thumbs up.

So we told Daddy about the show and he sat down to watch, him being a big Monty Python fan loved it also and we have been watching and recording episodes ever since.

The tv show is based on a series of books by Terry Deary, so having an avid bookworm, he got a blood curdling box of books.

My big boy is very much into history so the show and books are perfect for his active mind

Awesome Egyptians

It’s not very often a tv show rates with the parents as much as the kids, and I only wished I lived close enough to go see the live shows!

What television shows to you love or hate?

I like Horrible Histories! If my 11 year old daughter had it her way, the television would be permanently stuck on ABC3!
Have you watched The Adventures of Dick and Dom… that’s another funny one 🙂

We are just starting to make the abc2 to abc3 transition with the older kids. I hav to admit though, the favourite in our house at the moment is Hi5. The kids just love the dancing!

Have never watched it, don’t think my kids realised other channels existed!! Or if they did they weren’t interested.

Hi Rachel, at the moment it is screening on Sunday mornings on ABC3 at 9.40am, some kids might think its gross, lots of poo jokes too, mine find it hilarious 😉 the songs will certainly get stuck in your head.
