The Summers over and to school we must go back….

After having a few weeks of sickness with two kids home in quarantine I needed to escape so we took a day trip to Latrobe, a place I used to frequent as a child but hadn’t been back for many years.  We took the kids to Reliquare and got lost in all the rooms of things, and surprisingly didn’t come out with spending much, except on an axe….

I also ended up with heaps of photos of my eldest boy because everyone else was grumpy and running away from my camera.  I think he was sick of me by the end of the day.

We also made a quick trip to the Devonport Antique Emporium which I had never been to yet and wish I had visited sooner it was AMAZING so huge and so much to look at, but a bit hard with kids in tow.

It was such a lovely day, I can’t wait for our next day trip.

Our family portraits

A fortnight ago, we had the pleasure of being photographed by the lovely Michelle Dupont.  We decided to make a day trip of it and headed up to the Devonport Bluff where we met Michelle.

I have been admiring Michelle’s work for a long time now on Flickr and following her blog, I love her natural feel of shooting and the wonderful images she produces.  I particularly wanted a few images of my husband and I seeing as we have never had any of us taken. My biggest hind site is not being able to pay for a wedding photographer.  I am very grateful for the photos I do have, but to have some professionally done is something special.

Michelle was wonderful, the kids behaved for her (not like when I want to take their photo)  and she even made me look alright.

Michelle took so many wonderful images, I just have to have them all.  http://michelledupont.com.au/gallery/hastings/

Day Trip – Bluff Devonport Family Photography Tasmania

Last weekend was the start of our two week term break, the last before the summer holidays and it has certainly been needed, with the winter blues and sickness hitting us all it was wonderful to take a day trip to Devonport to the Bluff.  The Bluff has always had a great playground, I remember it affectionately as a child when my family would travel to visit my Nan we would often get to go to the playground there.  Obviously it was a lot different back then, but this new playground is fantastic.

There is a great fenced off area for toddlers, and heaps of spinning things to make you sick and dizzy.

The facilities have also been given a dramatic make over. It would be fabulous for a wedding here.

And of course the beach is just there next to the park!  I look forward to visiting more often.
