Rainbow Birthday Party

In preparation for the Rainbow Party Google was my friend.  I don’t know what people did before Google came along (people might have actually had to think for themselves!) but not me!

I found these fantastic free printables that went perfectly with our rainbow theme from PaperGlitter.  I also found instructions here at the Martha Stewart site to make pom poms, which we adapted to make rainbow pom poms.

So in the weeks prior to Miss 6’s birthday we prepared the invitations, loot bags,  decorations and bought the yummy food.  We also prepared a craft activity instead of party games.

I also found some rainbow paper which I laminated and made into placemats for the kids to take home.

The holidays are over

Well the holidays are over, we had a very busy two weeks.  Now that my little boy is in bed and has stopped crying it is very quiet.

It is lovely, but at the same time too quiet.

It is lovely to have the kids home, but the fighting is not.  Older boys just seem to have to be so annoying to their sisters and all I heard was “Dooooon’t” “Stop it” “Doooon’t” every 5 seconds.

Thankfully we were kept fairly busy with visiting, and having visitors so they were not overly bored.  They also spent no time on the computer, and hardly any on the playstation, we had one movie day which was a wet day.

One of the days we made pikelets for lunch, and I got my big boy to help out as my daughter had helped me make cupcakes earlier in the week.

So I had to make a second batch.
Whilst making the pikelets, my big boy said that it was so fun that he was going to write about it when he went back to school in his writing. *Awwwwwww heart melting moments.
