Tim is coming to Tasmania

One of my newly found favourite photographers Tim Coulson is coming to Tasmania.

He is running a workshop called The Nursery.  The Nursery is a full day workshop aimed to help people use their DSLR camera to it’s full capabilities by teaching you how to get it off auto and taking beautiful photos in Manual mode.

I love Tim’s work and he has an inspiring story of how he got into business, if I didn’t know how to work my camera already, I would be going to this one!

We don’t often have much availability for photographic courses in Tasmania so jump on it!

Long Weekend – Part 4 Botanical Gardens The End

On Sunday morning we woke to hot, hot air, the temperature that day was 29, that is hot for Tassie and the hottest we have experience since it became spring.

We slowly got organised and headed to the Royal Botanical Gardens for a look. I think I visited the gardens as a child but I don’t remember.

On the way back to the cottage we stopped by the bridge.

Monday morning we visited family and then headed back home to our real life. Can’t wait for our next mini break.

Long Weekend Part 2 – Beach Road Cottage

I had booked Beach Road Cottage after searching Google for accomodation in Hobart to suit a family of 5, not always an easy task, hotel/motels only like to cater for families of 4 or less. I also didn’t want to spend a fortune on accommodation, but wanted something better than a caravan park to stay in.

I instantly loved the sound of Beach Rd Cottage, it sounded different, and the photos just don’t do it justice, it is beautiful!

Beach Rd Cottage

It is set in a beautiful cottage garden, in Lindisfarne, right near the park, and river. We could have just spent the whole weekend in the cottage, it was so relaxing. It is located in the back yard of a bigger property, but it completely private, there was also a little dog on the premises, which at first I was wary of, as a kid I was bitten on the head by a small dog, but he was lovely, the kids loved him and I thought he was gorgeous.

The comfy bed that made me realise I need a new mattress, badly.

Weekend Retreat

One of the best parts of the cottage is that it has a loft.

I was kind of hoping the kids wouldn’t want to sleep up there, but alas they did, so I missed out.

We had such a perfect weekend, we need to do it more often, and I would love to come back to Beach Rd Cottage again.
