Visiting Uncle Glenny

Last Saturday we called around to Uncle Glenn’s house as he has done up his garden and we wanted to see all the work he has had done.

Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot

I have been wanting to do this post since the weekend, but I had lots of photos to edit, then uploading took a while. Then it’s been school holidays and I haven’t had much time to sit at all. To top it all off I ended up in bed all day yesterday with a migraine.

On Saturday we decided to take a drive, break the mundane norm and just head out of town. My husband asked me where I wanted to go and Tasmazia came to mind. We had tried to go there several years ago, before kids and we went the only month it was closed. I thought it would be great to take the kids there, so we got ready and after little boy spewed and had a second change of clothes, off we went.

After countless are we there yet? How long till we get there? (About an hour and a half driving) we finally arrived.

Tasmazia

Not sure why but they wanted to look like big scary giants.

Tasmazia

After not leaving exactly on time we arrived dead on 12pm, and of course everyone was hungry so we had lunch at the adjoining pancake parlor.

What’s the first thing that happens? Queen of slop spills her drink…

Tasmazia

So the pancakes were not what I expected…I was expecting nice thin crepe like pancakes but they were more like giant pikelets.

Tasmazia

I asked for lemon and sugar and got lemon and icing sugar, even though it wasn’t quite what I expected, it filled my belly.

Miss P said her lunch was yucky. So a big fail on the food. Sorry Tasmazia. She also had a tummy ache later so I wonder if it was properly cooked.

We were able to get through most of the mazes with the pram.

He found the middle

I actually googled this guy and he was not in fact the creator of the toilet, although he was a plumber.

Not impressed…..a toilet?

Big boy and I made it to the middle of another maze while Dad and Miss P went to the toilet.

Tasmazia

This is the only part we couldn’t get down with the pram, but there was another way to get around to the other side.

So it looked like Miss P was about to go in there, but as we got to the door it started to make ghostly noises and she started crying. So she did not go in.

There were heaps of different cubby houses to explore.

At this point we still had not found the middle of the big maze and had lost Dad, we walked around calling out for ages. Finally we found him and continued on, he had already found the middle so off we went.

Hooray! The middle.

I won’t spoil it in case you ever go, but the kids were a little disappointed at the 3 Bears House.

Yes I was there!

We were starting to get tired and it was also getting late, so it was time to find the way out.

Overall, Tasmazia was fantastic, there is so much to do and look at, mazes that we didn’t even find the centre of. One we didn’t even get time to start. For the prices $17.50 an adult and $10 per child I found to be really reasonable considering you can spend all day there, I wish we had of had time to do all of it.  These days it is open all year round, so you won’t go during the only month it is closed.  For more details on Tasmazia click here.

Rainbow Birthday Party

In preparation for the Rainbow Party Google was my friend.  I don’t know what people did before Google came along (people might have actually had to think for themselves!) but not me!

I found these fantastic free printables that went perfectly with our rainbow theme from PaperGlitter.  I also found instructions here at the Martha Stewart site to make pom poms, which we adapted to make rainbow pom poms.

So in the weeks prior to Miss 6’s birthday we prepared the invitations, loot bags,  decorations and bought the yummy food.  We also prepared a craft activity instead of party games.
