School Holiday Ideas

Next week school holidays begin. While I will relish not having to do the school run (I hate it) it will be a busy time trying to keep all 3 entertained, fed and rested (baby).

So I asked the kids last night for some ideas of what we can do over the holidays, this is what we came up with.

1. Town to fix big boys glasses and then a trip to the library.

2. Museum, I think they have a special dinosaur exhibition at the moment.

3. Treasure Island aka the noisiest place on earth, or germ heaven.

4. Visiting friends. We have lots of friends we could catch up with over the holidays.

5. Visiting my Nan’s. My children are lucky enough to have two great grandparents nearby, it would be good for the kids and my Nan’s to spend some time together.

6. Go to the park. Might be able to incorporate catching up with friends and the park at the same time.

7. A trip to the video shop to hire some movies.

Thankfully all the ideas are relatively cheap and apart from Treasure Island and parking money for town which is nearly as much as Treasure Island entry we shouldn’t have to be out of pocket too much!

What do you do over the school holidays to keep the kids entertained (aside from go mad)?

School Holiday Fun

Down by the river, originally uploaded by astrogirl529.
Well it’s week two of the kids school holidays, and I never seem to have much money for expensive activities, so we do free ones. My best friend Rachel came over and we went for a drive to take some photos.

We ended up down by the river in Perth meeting hungry ducks, that we could not feed, they were very tame and walked right up to us. The kids thought it was hilarious. My boy did his best to pat a duck but I think he missed.

There were some interesting finds just in this small little area, like the toilets!

And beautiful trees to hide behind:

We then headed back towards home, where there is an old railway cart on the side of the road that I drive past almost every day, just have never had the chance to stop at. So this time we did.

It started to cloud over and get quite bitterly cold, so I took one more snap before we left.

This is my bestie Rach

Next week we might go and explore some more!

Where have I been?

No where really, just lurking around doing what I usually do….I have been a bit uninspired in the photo department, been busy but I’m not sure what doing.

So I have decided to start a new little project with no time limit but something to keep the brain ticking over… It’s called Project ABC, the idea is to take a photo of something representing each letter of the alphabet. I’ve only just started so here is my B photo:

Books in case you weren’t sure 😉

B is for Books

School holidays are almost upon us! I am guessing there will be a fair bit of tv watching going on if the weather doesn’t pick up! Which is what my son is doing here

Watching television

I can’t believe the year is almost over, my little man has done so well at school this year receiving a literacy award for the best in his class, I’m so proud!

Wish me luck for the 8 weeks holidays we have down here in Tassie, I’m sure I will be tearing my hair out before the first 2 weeks are over!! No I’m looking forward to not having to get up early, unplanned days, and visiting friends and the museum, hopefully I will get to take a few more photos too.
